There he became a Yankees fan and, like many youngsters, dreamed of someday playing for his favorite team. In 1994 Jeter became Minor League Player of the Year and was named to the International All-Star Team. Playing for the Yankees in 1996, he was AL Rookie of the Year. Jeter, who has emerged as a team leader as well as a great shortstop, has four World Series® championship rings. He was named MVP of both the 2000 World Series® and the All-Star Game.
