Description
I learned to drive by driving, says Richard Petty, the king of stock car racing. From Rookie of the Year (1959) through his Farewell Tour (1992), Petty drove his Number 43 sky-blue cars straight into the record books. The winning-est driver in NASCAR history, he is appreciated as someone who always has time for race fans. Petty has also received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest U.S. civilian award.
