Description

A unique ornament–Represents the Lunar Module used to taxi U.S. astronauts from their Apollo spacecraft to the surface of the moon and back. Sometimes referred to as the lunar lander–or the “bug” because of its spidery legs–the design proved its dependability on the six historic visits to the moon, from 1969 to 1972.

To hear the message from the 1971 Apollo 14 mission, press the button on the back of the ornament. Astronaut Alan B. Shepard from the crew of the Lunar Module Antares is reporting to Mission Control: “â?¦ We sure picked a clear day to arrive! There’s not much haze in the air at all â?¦ It’s really a wild place up here!”
