LIONEL Electric Trains and Christmas just seem to go together! Produced since 1900, the trains are prized by hobbyists and collectors for their exacting detail and historical accuracy.
In 1948, when mighty diesel locomotives were shattering speed records on East and West Coast runs, LIONEL introduced O-gauge reproductions of the famous diesels. The Santa Fe Super Chief, noted for its colorful “warbonnet” paint scheme, soon became a favorite. This ornament carries the number “2343”, signifying the model, style and year (1950) best known to collectors. The original 1948 model carried the number “2333”.
