Description
Commander Data, an android, is the second officer of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D, and operations officer. This 1997 Hallmark ornament has data sitting at the ops position on the bridge of the Enterprise, awaiting the orders of Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Data was created by Dr. Noonien Soong on the Omicron Theta Colony (which was later destroyed by the Crystalline Entity), and is continuously endeavoring to become more human, although his struggles with humor and contractions provide quite a bit of comedy relief to his shipmates. Data has a “twin brother” named Lore, who was responsible for the death of their “father” – Dr. Soong, and who has conspired with the Borg and attempted to hand the Enterprise and its crew over to the evil Crystalline Entity. Data was eventually destroyed in the feature film, Star Trek Nemesis as he saved Captain Picard’s life.
