Description
Introduced in the early 1930″s, streamlined trains revolutionized American railroading and captured imaginations with their unprecedented speed and sleek appearance. Lionel tapped into the excitement by quickly releasing scale models of the earliest stream-liners. This Keepsake Ornament replicates the No. 751W “O” Gauge Union Pacific Streamliner set, based on Union Pacific’s M-10001 City of Portland train.
The second car, No. 753, was a long passenger coach with room for sixty. It appeared to emerge seamlessly from the locomotive, thanks to the articulated coupling and the continuation of Union Pacific’s distinctive yellow and brown paint scheme. The coach boaster thirty-two windows, two doors, and elegant exterior lines that hinted at the plush comfort cross-country passengers would have enjoyed inside.
Handcrafted and metal. Wheels turn.
